Well, the first ever Poiesis chili cook-off came and went without a hitch. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. We had a blast playing and judging the chili. Stick around the site and check often for updates.

Just a quick update: Check out our myspace for info on the 30 hour famine. It should be a blast, and we’d love to see you there.

Well, it’s been a while. We have so many exciting things going on. We are playing for a youth retreat at El Camino Pines this upcoming weekend. Sorry, it’s not open to the public. We have been meeting a lot to discuss the much requested t-shirt idea, and we have come to a decision. We have ordered our t-shirts and they should be available for purchase soon. Thank you everyone who gave us ideas and kept us motivated to get them out. Keep an eye out for us at a venue near you soon, and if we aren’t coming to your area yet, ask your local club why! Let them know who you want to hear.

Peace

Hey there!
Just wanted to drop a line and tell you about the new opportunity we have been given. Starting this Sunday, we will be helping lead worship every week at a new worship service called The Hub. It's being held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Garden Grove (see our myspace for directions). If you do go to church, this service might be a different kind of worship experience than what you are accustomed to. If you don't go to church, this service will probably be quite a bit different than what you know of church. It's being geared toward the twenty-something crowd, but there will likely be people who are both younger and older than that around as well. There will be plenty of good music (at least we think so ), awesome people with love to spread, and of course some good coffee and snacks. We'll be talking about what a crazy book the Bible is and what it might say to us today.

If you haven't stepped foot in a church since your grandma dragged you there on Christmas Eve when you were 12, this would be a great, un-intimidating place for you to try it out. Lutheran churches are very welcoming, non-condemning places. The Hub will likely be a place where you'll find people who are a lot like you.

We're getting involved as a band because this is something we've been wanting to to for a long time. To us, no music is more powerful than songs that are used to express our need and love for God. It's incredible to me how, whenever I play nothing but worship for a while, songs that only express my own personal emotions tend to lose their luster when I go back to them.

We're so excited for this opportunity to be a part of this group of beautiful, broken, unique, and creative people, and to worship with them a God who longs to redeem us and give us truly abundant life. Come join us sometime?

Our new website is up! It is still under construction, but we tried to make it as accessible as possible until then. Check it out and browse around a bit. Our new EP, “Echoes of Hope” is available through PayPal if you are interested. Also, Matt’s blogs can be found on the blog page, if you are looking for those. By the way, let us know what you think of the site! We are always open to suggestions.
